SET YOUR OWN APPOINTMENT ON HANDSHAKE!
Students:
Students can now schedule their own appointments with Career Services staff directly on Handshake! Simply visit https://uic.joinhandshake.com/ and log into your account. If you haven’t used Handshake before, you can log in to claim your account using your University credentials.
Once you’re in the account, click on the “Career Center” option in the left-side menu and it will take you to the page where you can click on “Appointments” and select the topic, date, and time.
After that, you’ll receive an email confirmation with a virtual link for the session. If you would like a resume or cover letter review, just have those materials ready for the session. For other topics, it would be helpful to come with a list of questions or issues you’d like to discuss with the advisor.
Alumni:
UIC Alumni can now schedule their own appointments with Career Services staff directly on Handshake! Simply visit https://uic.joinhandshake.com/ to create a new account, if you have not already created one. Be sure to create a new account with your email of choice and you will receive an email to complete registration and select a password. Your previous University credentials will not work in this system. IMPORTANT: Be sure to select the college in which you graduated in the Profile section of Handshake when you are registering. That field has to be selected in order for you to see open appointments. It’s also helpful to have your major information as well.
