If I am a first time user of UICcareers.com, how do I log in?

If I am a first time user of UICcareers.com, how do I log in?

Type in your UIC EMAIL address (including @uic.edu) as your username, then hit FORGOT PASSWORD. A "Welcome to UICcareers" message with instruction on accessing your account will be sent to your UIC e-mail address.

If you do not receive the welcome message with an hour, please call 312-996-2300 for assistance.


Are graduates of UIC allowed to use your services?

You are allowed to use the services of our office for one year after you graduate. After that you may refer to our Alumni page for additional options.


If I graduated over a year ago may I still use UICcareers.com?

After one year, please contact us to regain access to UICcareers.com.


Are graduates of UIUC and UIS allowed to use your services?

Unfortunately, our services are limited to UIC students. Please contact your university's career services for assistance.


How do I get I help with interviewing?

You may get help through the Interviewing and Networking section on our website, by using the InterviewStream virtual mock interview practice tool, by scheduling an individual appointment, or through a one-on-one mock interview (one per student per semester).


How do I get help with my resume and/or cover letter?

We offer drop-in advising for resumes and cover letters daily, check the website for hours. You may also schedule a one-on-one appointment, attend a workshop (see our calendar for upcoming programs), or review our Resume & Cover Letter section on the website.


How do I get help with choosing a major or thinking about careers?

You may start the conversation during drop-in hours. However an in-depth, one-on-one session is recommended. View Majors & Careers for the variety of ways we can assist you.


When can I schedule a mock interview?

You may schedule a mock interview on weekdays between 9:00 am and 5:00pm (including over breaks) by calling 312-996-2300.


How do I schedule an appointment?

You may schedule an appointment by calling our front desk at 312-996-2300.


If I missed my appointment can I reschedule?

You may reschedule your appointment up to three times. After that you may no longer make appointments, you may only use walk-in advising.


Can I make an appointment for the same day I call?

While we do not offer same-day appointments, but you may come in during our walk-in advising hours for assistance.


Do I have to meet with the advisor that specializes in my major? Can I meet with a different advisor each time I come in?

You may choose to meet with a different advisor if you like, but we recommend you first speak with the advisor that specializes in your field if your schedule allows.


Is your office the only office that can help?

Depending on your field of study you may also seek service from other career office(s) on campus. Click here for more information.
