Is there a fee to participate in the career fair?

Yes, there are two different registration categories:


I. $325 for School Registration: This fee covers:

  • the cost of providing floor space at the fair
  • including a 6-ft. table and two chairs
  • snacks and lunch for 2 representatives
  • Parking pass for all representatives

II. $375 Non-School Vendors: This fee covers:

  • the cost of providing floor space at the fair
  • including a 6-ft. table and two chairs
  • snacks and lunch for 2 representatives
  • Parking pass for all representatives

Can non-school vendors participate in the fair?
Yes. You may register at http://www.vcsaonline.uic.edu/gradfair/ The registration fee is:

Do you have a Graduate Guide Ad Package?
Yes! Send black and white & color PDF ads to Rosa Parker at rosap@uic.edu by Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11:59pm CST. There are three ad packages options:

  • $300 Regular Ad Package (5'' wide x 3.75'' tall)
  • $400 Medium Ad Package (5'' wide x 7.625'' tall)
  • $600 Large Ad Package (10'' wide x 7.625'' tall)

Increase your success! You can let the right students know about your program by advertising in the Graduate Guide and in a mailing to UIC seniors. Ads will be included in a mailer to UIC seniors, in the Graduate Guide handed out at the fair, and will be displayed on jumbo screens at the fair.

How many students typically attend?
In general our fairs attract around 600-800 attendees but due to our increase in marketing and outreach we expect around 1,000 attendees this year.

How do companies typically set up their table?
Companies typically bring a table covering and a sign as well as any relevant literature. Take a look at the pictures on the Grad Fair Photo Album for examples.

Is food provided?
Yes. Lunch will be provided for all registered representatives.

Is there a hotel you recommend?
Yes. We recommend the Chicago Marriott at Medical District/UIC. Please call 800-356-3641 to reserve your room or to reserve your room online click on Book your corporate rate for UIC Career Services The cutoff date for this block of rooms is on August 26th. The contracted rate for this block is $229 and there is a 17.4% state/local tax that is added on top of that. Overnight parking is $43 per night with in and out privileges.


You will have access to the hotel's complimentary shuttle which is available to all of the in-house guests. It runs from 6:30am-10:30pm and makes runs at the top and bottom of the hour. It will take guests anywhere within a 1 mile radius and holds 9 guests. If there are more than 9 guests requesting the shuttle at once they will come back and make an additional trip.

Where do I mail my materials for the Fair?
Starting October 3rd you may start mailing your materials to:

Note: Schools/Vendors will need to make their own arrangements for their packages to be picked within 3 business days after the event (October 11, 2016 at 4:00pm, CST).

Is there a cancellation fee?
Full refunds will be issued only if a cancellation notice is received within 7 business days prior to the day of the event (September 27, 2016 at 11:59pm, CST). If a school or vendor does not show up the day of the fair, there will be no refunds issued. If you have additional questions, please contact us at 312-996-2300.
