Finding a job is a process, and it takes dedication and stamina. Expect to spend significant time researching organizations, creating a strengths-focused resume, networking, writing cover letters, and filling out online applications. While it may seem daunting, students who are the most successful in making the transition from college to career generally begin their job search months before they graduate, some more than a year prior.

We have many, many resources to help. UICcareers.com is our on-campus job board -- these employers are looking for qualified UIC students. Make sure your Personal and Academic profiles are up-to-date.

UICcareers.com is also your source for all Employers Interviewing On Campus opportunities. In addition to UICcareers.com, we maintain an extensive list of Internet Job Search Sites. You have likely heard of the big job boards, but there are numerous specialized sites that cater to specific careers and occupations - check them out.

Career Fairs are a great place to connect with employers, and we have several each semester.

Graduate Assistantships can be challenging to land - see our page for tips on navigating this process.

Once you've landed an offer you may need to know about Salary Negotiation, and we have tips for those as well as places to research what a reasonable salary might look like.

You may also be looking for Part-Time Jobs, and Student Employment can help with those. Other Career Centers on campus can also support you if you are a student in Business, Engineering, or Public Health.

Finally, check out our Additional Internet Resources for even more help.
